HUA 125 Intro to Computer Art
Introduction to Digital Design
This course is an introduction the current techniques used to produce visual communications and design. Through in-class lectures and hands-on projects, students develop skills including vector drawing, image editing and art for digital media using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software.
Identity Project
For this introductory project, students learned to translate a company's function and philosophy into an easily understood logo, then place the logo into a letterhead and a business card.
Hero Stamp
Postage stamps are small, detailed works of art that commemorate a person, place thing, event. They travel around the world spreading a message of national prowess. Students were asked to choose their own hero- one that speaks a national truth as they see it.
Advertisement Postcard and Stamp
This assignment is a continuation of the visual identity concepts explored in the logo design / Identity project. As students gain skills, they are able to work with Photoshop and Illustrator together to complete their designs.
Book cover Design
This assignment asked students to use vector illustration, layered images and typography to solve the complex format of a book cover.
